It feels like it's already 110 degrees this week in and we're only in June...
Thats why this week's groundbreaking ceremony for the all-new Curtistine McCowan Aquatics & Recreation Center (ARC) is such great news. What's the ARC you say? Well let me tell you all about it...
The Aquatics & Recreation Center, or ARC, was the brainchild of DeSoto's former mayor, the late Curtistine McCowan, and it fulfills the Desoto mantra of "So Much to Love". The ARC will feature an indoor lap pool/natatorium, a state-of-the-art fitness center and athletic facilities.
This brand-new facility will feature over 75,000 square feet and two stories of elevated running tracks, and elevated viewing areas for the athletic courts and competition pools. And it isn't all about playing there will also be meeting spaces and social gathering spaces for the community to utilize. In addition, there will be exterior athletic fields and walking trails that will into the miles of existing trails within the DeSoto Park's system. The new ARC is slated to open in late 2025/early 2026.
