The Texas Independent School Districts (or ISD) school ratings have made news recently. Some ISD's fared better than others, however of those that needed improvement Desoto ISD just took a major step forward.
This month Desoto ISD opened the brand new Katherine Johnson (i.e. of "Hidden Figures" fame) Technology Magnet Academy. The brand new, start of the art, facility will accommodate 800+ students in grades K-5 and focus on technology. Students will have the opportunity to target their curriculum towards Digital Production, Digital Arts, Coding, Robotics, and Computer Science.
