The 4th of July is almost here, and there are several options to celebrate our nation's Independence.

First things first: FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN DALLAS COUNTY. With the exceptions of a few unincorporated communities... Now that we've got that out of the way, lets check out all of the free and local options right here in SW Dallas county.
The City of Duncanville is at the top of our list with their 4th of July celebration. The celebration begins at 9 a.m. with the Lions Club parade, which starts on Wheatland Road at Freeman Street. Evening festivities in Armstrong Park start at 6 p.m. with music, food, bounce houses, live music and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Free tickets must be downloaded HERE for park entry.

Finally, the cities of Desoto and Lancaster are hosting a joint 4th of July celebration. This event will include family fun, carnival-style food, bounce houses, face painting, games and live entertainment featuring Carl Thomas and Keke Wyatt. The community is invited to bring some lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy this FREE event. Make sure to stay to the end for the fireworks celebration! Click HERE for more information.
